EUROPEAN UNION 1957-2007
The Fiftieth Anniversary Celebration
In March 2007 Europe will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome, the historic event which established what is now recognised as the European Union.
The signing of the Treaty has proved to be the most outstanding event in the development of the modern European Union in the last fifty years, heralding a remarkable period of economic and cultural growth that has brought wide international benefits.
To mark this historic anniversary Boston Hannah International are to produce a commemorative publication which will be distributed on a pan-European and worldwide basis. The EU Commission President, Jose Manuel Barroso, in his letter endorsing the publication writes:
"As an initiative to promote awareness of the significant milestone in Europe's history, Boston Hannah International will produce a publication that not only looks back over fifty years of achievement since the signing of the Treaty, but also looks forward to the political, industrial, social and cultural developments which will play a key role in Europe's future."
